Working draft — plain-language summarychotu.studio is an AI short-film studio by Platypus Engine. This page explains, in plain words, what we store and why. A formal policy will replace this draft.
What we store
- Your account — email address and a securely hashed password (or your Google sign-in identity). We use your email to verify your account and to contact you about your projects.
- Your projects — the briefs you write and the stories, frames, and clips the studio generates for you. They are private to your account.
How generation works
When you generate, your prompts and media pass through the AI providers that power the studio (for example text, image, and video models). They process that content to produce your results, under their own terms.
We never handle your API keys
chotu does not ask for, receive, or store an API key of yours for any AI provider. There is no field to paste one into and no place for one to be kept. Generations run on the studio's own provider accounts, and you pay for them in credits.
This is deliberate. A key you hand over is a secret we would have to guard, and the safest way to protect something is not to hold it.
What we don't do
- We never take your API keys — see above.
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't show your projects to other users.
- We don't use tracking ads.
The beta waitlist
chotu.studio is in a private beta. When you join the waitlist we keep:
- your email address,
- your answer to "What would you use it for?", if you wrote one (if you joined before that question, the choices you picked under "What will you make?" and your own line),
- the links you shared to your work (a person looks at them; our servers never fetch them),
- a one-way hash of your IP address, used to spot many sign-ups from one place. We never keep the address itself.
We keep these only to choose who joins the beta and to email you about it. We do not share them with anyone.
To be removed from the waitlist, email hello@platypusengine.com from the address you joined with. We delete your entry, any invite we made for it, and the emails we sent about it.
Deleting your data
You can delete your projects from the studio at any time. To delete your whole account, email hello@platypusengine.com and we'll handle it manually while self-serve deletion is built.
